'The Jewel in the Palace' Going to China

The National Folk Museum said it will hold a 'Daejanggeum in Beijing' exhibition for a month beginning February 19 as a part of its overseas cultural center project. The exhibit will be held at the Korean Culture Service in Beijing.

The Korean Culture Service China, MBC Art Center and Baewha Women's College will be co-organizing the upcoming exhibition, which will feature 150 costumes and props that were used on the set of the phenomenally popular history drama 'Dae Jang Geum' or 'Jewel In the Palace'. The exhibit will provide visitors with an opportunity to sample traditional Korean dishes and take photos wearing traditional costumes. The event will provide various other interesting programs related to Korean history and traditional culture.

The royal dress culture and customs of the Joseon Dynasty will be displayed in the form of 120 miniature dolls and sets based on historical facts.
