"Alice in Wonderland" leads domestic box office for second week

Fantasy flick "Alice in Wonderland" led the domestic box office again last weekend, taking its second win as the most watched film in the country, according to estimates on Monday.

The Korean Box Office System (KOBIS) revealed that Tim Burton's latest movie about Lewis Carroll's 19th century story sold 552,031 tickets during the weekend of March 12 to 14, bringing up total admissions to over 1.3 million since its release early this month.

The Walt Disney picture starring actors Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter, Anne Hathaway follows the story of Alice played by newcomer Mia Wasikowska as she returns to Wonderland for the second time.

John Travolta and Jonathan Rhys Meyers starrer "From Paris with Love" bowed at second place on the box office with 188,540 viewers, pushing down Korean action pic "Secret Reunion" down a spot to No. 3 with 181,740 admissions.

Newly released films "It's Complicated" and "Little Big Soldier" attracted 76,394 and 55,271 moviegoers, placing fourth and fifth, respectively, on their first week of showing.

Other movies in the top 10 were "Parallel Life", "Harmony", "Dear John", "The Rebound" and "Avatar".
