Cannes to host press junket for 'My Way'

The Cannes Film Festival will hold a promotional event for the glitzy Korean action film "My Way", the film's local distributors said.

It's the first time that the prestigious French festival is inviting Korean filmmakers to speak about a work that is not being shown during the event.

The main cast members ― heartthrob Jang Dong-gun, Japanese superstar Joe Odagiri and Chinese pop icon Fan Bingbing ― are slated to appear in the May event. It is expected to help pitch international sales for the movie.

"My Way",directed by filmmaker Kang Je-gyu, cost 30 billion won ― a record amount for homegrown projects. It chronicles the changing dynamics between two friends amid World War II's Normandy Invasion.

The film will open nationwide simultaneously in Korea and Japan in December.
