"Detective K" claims almost half of Korea's moviegoers on its 11th day

Comedy mystery film "Detective K" continues its successful run in Korean box office by claiming its highest-ever audience share on Sunday, February 6th.According to statistics released on February 7 by the Korean Box Office Information System (KOBIS), "Detective K" had an impressive 41.6 per cent share on Sunday, which means that almost half of the moviegoers watched the period movie on that day.

Tied in second place with 18.2 per cent share are comic war movie Pyongyang Castle and American movie Gulliver's Travels with total admits of 126,899 and 126,500, respectively. The total number of moviegoers for both movies combined is 253,399, which is 36,449 moviegoers less than "Detective K"'s 289,848.

Furthermore, the two movies were shown in a total of 965 screens, while "Detective K" in 622 screens.

Comedy-adventure film "Detective K" stars Kim Myung-min as the great detective, Oh Dal-soo as the detective's witty sidekick and Han Ji-min as the mysterious lady merchant. It was released in January 27 and has remained in the number 1 spot since then while winning audiences over with the great acting, colorful characters and intriguing storyline that tells about the humorous escapades of the detective duo as they undertake a secret mission from the King.
