A total of 136 organizations, including the film industry union and the Korea Sexual Violence Counseling Center, formed a joint committee for the film director Kim Ki-duk (press office) and held a press conference on the 8th claiming, "We must stop violence against women".

Kim Ki-duk was accused of assault and coercion from actress A who participated in filming of "Möbius" in 2013, on July 26, 2017. Co-attorney Seo Hye-jin, said in the news conference, "Actress A took on the role as a mother after receiving the scenario of 'Möbius' from director Kim Ki-duk on March 2, 2013 and completed 70% of the movie. However, the director forced her to do something that was not included in the scenarios and she quit after several discussions with the production crew on March 13".

Immediately after the accusation was known, director Kim Ki-duk refuted the assertion claiming, "Actress A shot the movie twice and abandoned her role without notice and went out of reach". After quitting, Actress A got psychiatric consultation as well as the National Human Rights Commission, but heard negative answers every time. She was not able to express her courage in fear of further damage. After four years, she sued the director but decided not to file a claim for damages in order to prevent misunderstandings.

The Joint Commission has decided to receive a report on sexual violence and human rights violations through the Korea Women's Human Rights Center for one month until September 7. The women's film-making group has been conducting an investigation into sexual violence since May in cooperation with the Film Promotion Committee. The survey, which extends through October, is based on the release criteria for staff and actors who participated in films produced within the last three years. After completing the investigation, it plans to set up a response agency for sexual violence in October.
