The approximate budget for director Bong Joon-ho's upcoming movie, 'Snowpiercer' is revealed.

Director Park Chan-wook, who is in charge of making 'Snowpiercer', mentioned about this new movie in Kim Dong-ho's retirement party.

Director Park said, 'During last fall, director Bong Joon-ho finished the scenario of 'Snowpiercer'. If my calculation is right, the budget for this movie will be around, 30-40 million dollars".

Director Park also added, "We will get into pre-production stage in late 2010 and will start shooting from early 2011. Right now, only firmly decided cast member is Song Kang-ho alone. There are too many variables to reveal anything more today".

Director Park finished his speech by, "Only by looking at the scenario, I know this will be a monster. Many foreign investors are interested in this film".

"Snowpiercer" is a film based on the French comic "Le Transperceneige" by Jean-Marc Rochette. It is about a train of 1001 cars, which has to carry a large group of the last human beings on Earth after a nuclear war.

Production will be done by director Park Chan-wook's 'MoHo Film' and there will be a foreign cast along with a Korean cast.
