Filmmakers' strong protest against PiFan committee's decision

With only a few days left before general meeting of the organization committee of the Puchon International Fantastic Film Festival (PiFan), about 39 filmmakers, including Director Park Chan-wook, announced that if the committee finally agrees to drive the Executive Director Kim Hong-joon out of his post, they would no longer participate in the film festival.
At the announcement released on December 30th, they criticized the organization committee for making unilateral decision to sack Kim, saying that the committee blatantly calls for Kim to resign for the reason that he currently assumes double posts. They said, "If the committee makes a final decision in favor of Kim's resignation, we will refuse to take part in PiFan and make any cooperative efforts with the organization".
They also plan to hold press conference, as well as demonstration against the decision, outside the Puchon City Hall shortly before 5 p.m. on December 30th, when the general meeting is supposed to begin.
