[HanCinema's Drama Review] "Three Days" Episode 15

I haven't exactly had high expectations regarding the villains' plans lately, but I was expecting the assassination attempt to be a tad more elaborate than just a bunch of guys firing assault from moving vehicles into the general direction of the place where everybody thinks the President is. That's just sloppy- so much so that it almost makes me yearn for the evil plans that involve murder with a bright flashing trail of evidence.

But then, I don't have to yearn for it when such plots appear in this episode too. The bad guys are still getting access to wherever they need to go by donning police uniforms. At this point I'd expect someone would have put some sort of security measure in place so that real officers could be easily identified. Sadly, there's no such luck to be had here. The body count amps up here, as this is the finale and the drama has to raise the stakes somehow.

Also, since this is the finale, we can at long last start to actually apprehend criminals. Apparently the failure of any of the investigations to accomplish anything so far has been the fault of one guy. As far as I can remember this person has been in exactly one scene. I had assumed up until now that he was just symbolic of a greater problem but no it really was just this one guy ruining everything. And now that he's gone things pretty much go as planned.

Well, except for the spy. Unfortunately I don't even remember this character's name (he hasn't been around that much), so the surprise isn't a particularly overwhelming one. I don't know where Tae-kyeong gets the energy to continue being so outraged at every new plot twist. I can't even keep track of any of this stuff anymore. I've given up. It's not like any of these new developments have been foreshadowed in any way. The flashbacks aren't fooling me into thinking that any of these logical deductions the characters are making have any basis in reality.

And this goes on right into the cliffhanger. I can't make any sense of any character's motivation or knowledge here. How did Do-jin know where Dong-hwi is? And even assuming he could know this much, how could he predict Dong-hwi's actions? Is this all just a random coincidence or is there another ridiculous layer here that I'm not seeing? Oh who cares- I don't know what stupid explanation the last episode is going to come up with to make the story move from here. I just know the odds of it being satisfying are pretty infinitesimal.
