[HanCinema's News] Distribution Rights for "Exhuma" Sold to 133 Markets

On March 12th, Showbox announced that 133 international markets now have confirmed distributors for the occult horror film "Exhuma" which has already proven to be a huge hit in South Korea with over eight million theatrical admissions. "Exhuma" has already been released in Mongolia, as of February 23rd, the day after the South Korean release on February 22nd. "Exhuma" was then released on February 28th in Indonesia and March 8th in Taiwan.

On March 14th, "Exhuma" will be available in Australia, Brunei, Malaysia, New Zealand, and Singapore. March 15th will see "Exhuma" released in the North American market, as well as in Great Britain and Vietnam. The Philippines release will occur on March 20th, followed by a March 21st release in Thailand. Cambodia, Hong Kong, and Macau are expected to have release dates for "Exhuma" sometime next month.

"Exhuma" will premiere in continental Europe at the Udine Far East Film Festival, which will take place from April 24th to May 2nd. European rights-holders may be waiting for that festival to conclude before releasing the film in their markets, as "Exhuma" will be playing in competition and may receive an award. "Exhuma" is the latest from writer/director Jang Jae-hyeon of "The Priests" from 2015 and "Svaha: The Sixth Finger" from 2019.
