[HanCinema's News] Spinoff Confirmed for "Unintentional Love Story"

The recent TVING boy's love webdrama "Unintentional Love Story" has been confirmed for a spinoff. The news come in the wake of figures confirming the gay romance's surprising popularity worldwide. In the second week of April, the premiere of the drama's final episode coming on April 14th, "Unintentional Love Story" was the second most popular drama on streaming platforms.

"Unintentional Love Story" has also enjoyed strong popularity in China via iQiyi and Japan via Rakuten, being the most popular South Korean drama on these services throughout March and April. Number Three Pictures has confirmed that filming for the spinoff will begin later this year. Though the title and plot of the spinoff is as yet unknown it is unlikely to star lead actor Cha Seo-won, who began his mandatory military service on November 22nd.

Cha Seo-won surprised many by recently confirming that he was in a relationship with, expecting a child with, and eventually to be married with Uhm Hyun-kyung, an actress five years his senior who was his leading lady in "The Second Husband" last year. Some fans of "Unintentional Love Story" were upset by the news. Cha Seo-won posted a handwritten note in response where he expressed the strongest gratitude and support for the drama and his junior co-stars.
