It's lovesickness: Public Security in China issues 'Song Joong-ki Warning'

While the KBS' Monday & Tuesday drama, 'Descendants of the Sun' is experiencing the huge popularity in China, the Public Security in China issued 'Song Joong-ki Warning'.

The Public Security posted the unusual announcement on their Weibo page regarding 'Song Joong-ki Lovesickness' and expressed their concerns about the side effects caused by the explosive popularity of the drama.

On March 12th, the department of Four Social Illness Prevention under Public Security posted the announcement with the title, "Alert, Korean Drama Fans! The potential dangers hiding in 'Descendants of the Sun'".

The posting explained that "Many women around us caught 'Song Joong-ki Lovesickness'. It is provoking unhappiness from fair number of men".

The posting also warned, "However, without your knowing, watching Korean dramas may cause very dangerous and legal problems you may have to be responsible for".

A married couple who got divorced after a quarrel due to the drama and a married man who went through a plastic surgery because he became jealous due to his wife's love towards the leading actor of the drama were the real life examples listed in the posting.

Song Joong-ki in 'Descendants of the Sun' is currently starring as Captain Yoo Si-jin of the Special Warfare Unit, who carries out a secret operation in a disputed area. His honest and straightforward lines and machismo appeals are drawing incredible popularity.

Meanwhile, Song Joong-ki was ranked as the most popular figure in the entertainment business in China and proved his presence as a new Hallyu star. 'Descendants of the Sun' has been ranked 14th for the last one month and leapt to fifth last week.
