Jang Dong-gun Signs Contract with Largest Japanese Talent Agency

Actor Jang Dong-gun's agency reported on July 22 that it had signed a contract on July 1 with the Japanese talent management agency Amuse, which will manage Jang in Japan.

The deal is aimed at laying a foundation for Jang's acting and systematic management in Japan prior to the opening of his latest movies The Promise and "Typhoon", and promoting him as an actor in Asia and around the world.

Jang became the first Korean star to sign a contract with a Japanese talent management agency. The day the contract was signed, Amuse formed the International Management Division to manage overseas celebrities and expressed active support for Jang's career in Japan.

The actor will debut in Japan in the spring of next year after "Typhoon" opens in Korea this coming December and The Promise opens in Japan next year. The Promise was directed by Chen Kaige.
