Keuk Jang Jeon(Tale of Cinema) to release in 30 screens nationwide

Keuk Jang Jeon(Tale of Cinema) directed by Hong Sang-soo, which made inroads into the 58th Cannes Film Festival this year, is released in 30 screens nationwide on the forthcoming May 27.

This cinema, in which director Hong is assessed to show the most popular sentiment, humor and diction among all successive his cinemas, is garnering expectation to win a prize at the 58th Cannes Film Festival.

In a press conference held on late May 10, director Hong said that he releases the cinema in a more smaller scale, but has a discussion with the movie's distribution firm regarding a form to guarantee screen period over a certain period under way.

This film's actors include Uhm Ji-won (The young girl and the actress), Lee Ki-woo (The boy), and Kim Sang-kyung (The man). Its synopsis describes that in Seoul, the paths of two men and one woman intersect and move apart from one another, centering around their love for cinema.

A suicidal student meets a young woman who decides to follow him in his fatal gesture. Coming out of a cinema, Tongsu, an unsuccessful filmmaker, spots a beautiful young woman, and recognizes her : she is the main actress in the film he has just seen.

The life of this wavering and distressed young man strangely echoes the one of the young man from the beginning...
