Kim Woo-bin Tries to Grow Up Again in Buddy Movie

Heartthrob Kim Woo-bin's latest film, "Twenty" got off to a good start, attracting 1 million viewers already within just five days after its release last week. The comedy is about three young men who struggle with an uncertain future as they enter the first year of their 20s. Kim plays a role of womanizer.

Kim was just a freshmen aspiring to be a fashion model at college when he was that age. "I had long dreamed of being a fashion model, so all the auditions for fashion shows kept me too busy to properly enjoy the first year of college when I was 20", he recalls.

He imitated models in magazines and on the catwalks, and his long-held dream finally came true. The modeling career has since helped him move into acting.

The film contains some adult language. "The film contains a lot of exaggerated expressions and four-letter words which might intend to reflect young minds full of curiosity and impulse, but I was comfortable with that" he said. "I know what it's like to be a 20-year-old college freshman".

Kim believes modeling and acting share plenty of similarities.

"There are some basic rules, but it's not an exact science. For example, models have to walk straight, and maintaining good posture is important. But depending on how hard you try, the result can be very different. That applies to acting as well", he says.

Still in his 20s, he already regrets not having had more experiences in life that would help him become a good actor.

"I think I'm only about 3 percent complete as an actor", he says, adding that he would love to remain an actor for another 20 years and more. "I hope I don't become complacent. I want to remain as creative, imaginative and hardworking as I am now".
