KOFIC announces theaters in 2006 ArtPlus Cinema Network

A KOFIC-appointed jury has selected 12 screens that will make up the ArtPlus Cinema Network in 2006/7.

ArtPlus is a nationwide collection of screens that agree to show local and international arthouse films for at least 60% of the year. The creation of this network has worked to provide a more stable distribution channel for arthouse films and increase the diversity of films being shown on the nation's screens. In return for signing up, the theaters who take part in the network receive an annual grant from KOFIC.

ArtPlus has also been active in organizing the distribution and marketing of certain films shown on the network.

This year, 22 applications were received and 12 screens were selected to take part in the ArtPlus Network. The terms of the contract with KOFIC will last until March 31, 2007.
