Local Entertainment Agency Heads to US

Korean entertainment agency WEB has signed a business deal with U.S. promotion firm CAA on Monday, which is expected to pave the way for Korean entertainers to make inroads into the U.S. market.

Yonhap News Agency reported yesterday that WEB, a partner firm of Player Entertainment that manages such talents as Lee Byung-hun, Shin Eun-kyung and Lee Jung-jae, clinched the deal with the U.S. promoter in Cannes. Currently, the namesake international film festival is in full swing in the French resort city. CAA is the talent agency that represents big names, including Tom Cruise, Nicole Kidman, Cameron Diaz and Steven Spielberg. It is also the U.S. agency of Korean filmmaker Kang Je-gyu.
