Movie 'Oldboy': 5 titles at the 3rd Korea Film Festival

Movie 'Oldboy' that has gained official approval internationally regarding the movie's work value with winning a prize at the Canne Film Festival, sweeped over 5 titles at the 3rd Korea Film Festival held on Dec. 5 such as The Best Work Award, The Director Award, The Music Award, and The Lighting Award etc.

Director Park Chan wook who won The Director Award, gave his impressions of winning the prize: "He knew that he would receive the Director Award at this time, now that Mr. Choi Min-sik sweeped over The Man Actor Award all".

'Taegukgi: Brotherhood of War' received The Shooting Award, The Sound Award, and The Visual Effect Award.

This movie festival was established by MBC in a view to making a film festival that movie men and an audience make together.

In a point of time when the world gives attention to Korean movie along with both quantitative and qualitative growth, MBC said that through a fair movie award, the broadcasting company intends to devise Korean movie's creative and industrial development.

Oldboy's Premise/Synopsis is as follows: The original followed a man who has been kidnapped by unknown captors and held in a room for 15 years.

On the anniversary of his capture, he is put to sleep and wakes up in the middle of a city. The plot centers on his search to find out who kidnapped him and why.
