"Ojak Brothers" kicks off with 17.2% national rating

New KBS2 weekend drama "Ojak Brothers" successfully started its run on August 6.

According to AGB Nielsen Media Research, the pilot episode garnered national viewership of 17.2% and Seoul viewership of 17.9%. It ranked 3rd place among the TV dramas aired on Saturday (national viewership) after MBC's "Twinkle Twinkle" (24.3%) and SBS' "Scent of a Woman" (18.6%).

The warm and family drama revolves around the lives of a respectable family that lives in a farm near Seoul. The father, Hwang Chang-Sik (Baek Il-sub) takes care of the orchard while the adoring mother (Kim Ja-ok) tends the duck farm. The sons are bachelor Hwang Tae Sin (Jung Woong-in), TV news reporter Hwang Tae Bum (Ryu Soo-young), policeman Hwang Tae Hee (Joo Won) and playboy Hwang Tae Pil (Yeon Woo-jin).

The drama is directed by Ki Min-soo ("The Accidental Couple" Couple, 2009; "Love and Marriage", 2008; "Goodbye Solo", 2005,) and written by Lee Jeong-seon ("All About My Family", 2008; "Surgeon Bong Dal-hee", 2007; "Be Strong, Geum-Soon!"2005).
