Park Eun-hye to Star in Hong Kong Melodrama

Actress Park Eun-hye's role in a Hong Kong melodrama has been confirmed. Park's agency, Well-Made Film, said the actress signed a contract with the drama's production company, Won Production Limited, on April 9 to star in 30 episodes of the drama. The agency said Park has been offered the highest guaranteed contract in Hong Kong for her role, but the actor who will play opposite Park hasn't been chosen yet. The shooting is scheduled to begin on June 20.

Park's popularity in Hong Kong has soared since the epic drama "Dae Jang Geum" aired there, recording ratings of over 40 percent. She also became the first Korean celebrity to appear on the cover of the famous Hong Kong entertainment magazine "Easy Finder" early this month.

"Candidates for the lead male role in the drama include such top Asian stars as members of the group F4 and Jeong Yi-geon. We also plan to export 'Daejanggeum' to the entire Asian region, as its popularity in Hong Kong and Japan is really high", said a spokesman for Well-Made Film.

Currently, Park is starring in the KBS TV2 miniseries "18, 29".
