She plays Joseon's first female Pansori singer in the movie "The Sound of a Flower".
"The Sound of a Flower" is the story of Sin Jae-hyo (Ryu Seung-ryong) a Pansori singer who takes in Jin Chae-seon (Bae Suzy) as his student and first female Pansori singer.
Bae Suzy's first movie was the 2012 "Architecture 101" and this time she's back with "The Sound of a Flower" for the first time in 3 years.
Jin Chae-seon is sweet and innocent like a girl but doesn't know when to give up when it comes to being a Pansori singer.
Bae Suzy speaks in a dialect and even makes herself up as a man to become Jin Chae-seon.
Bae Suzy said, "I cried when I first read the scenario. I related to Jin Chae-seon who wanted to sing but was upset because she couldn't. I felt the same way when I was in training. It helped me become emotional. It was pressuring that Jin Chae-seon was the first female Pansori singer and she was a real character but I was attracted to her".
"The Sound of a Flower" is coming out on the 25th of November.
