Korea's most celebrated actress Lee Young-ae tied the knot in secret on Monday, August 24th. The star of the film "Sympathy for Lady Vengeance" and TV drama "Dae Jang Geum" married a Korean-American businessman known only by his surname Jeong. The bridegroom has reportedly graduated from the University of Illinois and is currently working at an IT firm. The wedding was held in the United States.
The 39-year-old star released a press statement through her legal representative on Tuesday, saying that the wedding was held with only the families and close friends of the couple in attendance. Lee wanted to keep the wedding secret to protect the couple's privacy. The actress will now live in the United States with her husband, but will return to Korea to work.
Her sudden and unilateral announcement of her marriage has caused some members of the press and her fans to express disappointment over all the secrecy surrounding the blessed affair.
