Jang Jae-hyeon also confirms in the interview his genuine surprise at the occult horror film's popularity, as he had assumed only genre fanatics would have any interest in the title. Jang Jae-hyeon credited his actors with being able to sell the concept so seriously despite the many absurd concepts of the premise. Jang Jae-hyeon described his interest in exhumations as deriving from personal research, with the project taking five years to finalize.

Jang Jae-hyeon cited "The Wailing" and the COVID pandemic as significant inspirations which had to be adapted over time due to changing trends. As per current inspirations, Jang Jae-hyeon stated that he's currently working on a vampire film ("Untitled Film") in the style of Bram Stoker, and has already worked out that it will take place in the context of the Greek Russian Orthodox Church in Korea. Jang Jae-hyeon anticipated that he will need to spend two years on the script, suggesting a possible release in 2028.
