'71-Into the Fire' to open in US

Released locally June 16, Korean War epic "71-Into the Fire" will have its US release July 30, according to the film's distributor Lotte Entertainment.Directed by John H. Lee (John H. LEE) the film opened at number one at the Korean box office and has taken 2 million admissions in its first two weeks.
The US release will see the film open on 14 screens in L.A., San Francisco, New York, Washington and Philadelphia at multiplex chains AMC and MPARK4.South Korean sales agent Finecut has sold overseas rights to U.K'.sand Ascot Elite for Germany and Switzerland. "71-Into the Fire" was also recently selected as the closing film for the Hawaii International Film Festival.

The film tells the true-life story of 71 student soldiers who fought a fierce and impossible battle to protect a support line along the Nakdong River during the Korean War.It stars top actors Cha Seung-won, Kim Seung-woo, kwon Sang-woo and Choi Seung-hyun (known also as T.O.P from the pop idol group Big Bang). The film's release pays tribute to the 60th Anniversary of the outbreak of the Korean War on June 25, 1950.
