(Character)] KOCCA Hosts Workshop for Professors of Cultural Content-Related Departments

Analysis of Successful Overseas Case Studies including the Korean TV Drama "IRIS" and the character 'Pucca' to Be Conducted

The Korea Creative Content Agency (President & CEO Lee Jae-woong) and the Korea University's Culture Contents Association (President Yu Chang-guk) will hold a workshop for professors of cultural content-related departments for two days (Dec. 17-18).

This workshop will be held for 30 or so professors of cultural content-related departments in Korea. The participants will analyze the policies of the content industry and cases about how cultural contents have made inroads here in Korea and abroad. The workshop will present the participants with an opportunity to deepen their knowledge, and help them to establish a network among them.

On the first day of the workshop (Dec. 17), the participants will attend lectures by Choi Yeong-ho, vice president of the Korea Creative Content Agency, and Ryu Han-seok, president of the Technology Labor Culture Institute, on the policies of the integrated media content industry and the status of the Korean and overseas content industries.

On the second day (Dec. 18), the participants will listen to case studies of different content sectors that have succeeded overseas, including the video, game and character industries. Lee Hyo-yeong, director of the Global Sales Team of KBS Media, will present the case of the Korean TV drama "IRIS", for which contracts with six Asian countries were concluded prior to its first airing.

Kim Chang-gi, executive manager of global business department of Gravity, the team responsible for the overseas marketing of Ragnarok, will give a lecture on the game industry, as will Gu Dong-hyeon, director of Vooz, the company that succeeded in exporting the character 'Pucca' to more than 120 countries around the globe and in concluding a partnership agreement with Warner Brothers.

Kim Yong-gwan, general director of the human resources development division of the Korea Creative Content Agency, said, "We hope that the participating professors of cultural content, who have the heavy responsibility of cultivating human resources with talent in the content industry, will deepen their understanding of the cultural content industry and actively promote what they learn from the workshop in their lectures".
