The historical drama "Jewel in the Palace (Dae Jang Geum)", already popular throughout East Asia, will be broadcast in Europe and the Middle East.

MBC Productions, the makers of the drama, said Saturday that it has sold its broadcasting rights to IRIB, a television network in Iran. The program will be dubbed in Persian and air throughout the Middle East in the latter half of this year.

The show, starring Lee Young-ae, will also be broadcasted in Europe through JSTV, a Japanese-language cable channel, and Phoenix TV, a satellite channel based in Hong Kong.
