2005/09/05 Source

"Welcome to Dongmakgol" enjoyed its fifth consecutive week at the top of the box office last weekend pulling in more than 192,000 people in Seoul alone and going on to break the 6.3 million viewer mark making it the fourth most successful film in South Korean movie history.

The movie about Korean War soldiers who find refuge in a peaceful yet mysterious mountain village opened in theaters nationwide Aug. 5 and stars Jung Jae-young of "Someone Special" and Kang Hye-jung from "Old Boy".

Until now, the South Korean War epic "Taegukgi" and "Silmido", a film depicting an aborted government scheme to assassinate North Korea's leader in the late 1960s, are the only two movies that have attracted more than 11 million moviegoers.
