'Eighteen' Wins at Pesaro

Related movies/dramas

First time feature film maker Jang Kun-jae's "Eighteen" has just won the Pesaro Nuovo Cinema award at the 46th Pesaro Film Festival.

The film previously won the Dragons and Tigers award at the 2009 Vancouver International Film Festival. The festival, which begun in 1965 in the small city of around 90,000 people located in the Marche region of Italy, focuses on national and international films from emerging directors that offer a fresh perspective on new forms and cinematic languages.
The coming of age story focuses on two young lovers and the challenges they deal with in facing their families. A common issue in Korea society presents itself as Mi-jung's parents will not allow the two to see each other until they enter college. Of course then time also conspires to keep the two apart.

Director JANG is a graduate of KOFIC's Korean Academy of Film Arts. "Eighteen" which was released in Korea on February 25, received production support from KOFIC.
