'Emperor of the Sea' nominated to the final round of the Emmy Awards

'Emperor of The Sea' (KBS2TV), a historical drama about the maritime trade emperor, Chang Po-go's life, has been nominated to the final round of the 2005 International Emmy Awards.

On the semi-final round of the 33rd International Emmy Awards for drama series in the Asia, Africa and Middle East region hosted by Korean Broadcasting System (KBS) on 2 August, the drama, 'Emperor of The Sea' was nominated to the final round taking place this September.

On the second round of the semi-final, programs entered by NHK in Japan, TBL in Hong Kong and others fell off.

The judging was joined by 16 Jurors from Korea and overseas including Japan, Taiwan and Singapore, and the drama 'Emperor of The Sea' was favorably commented in the recognition of excellent visual such as a spectacular battlefield scene as well as elaborated story.

'Emperor of The Sea' is being televised on Star TV in Taiwan winning great popularity to lead new 'hallyu (Korea Wave)'. Meanwhile, 'Crying out love in the center of the world' by TBS in Japan was also nominated to the final round.
