'Emperor of the Sea' wins great recognition in Europe

KBS (Korean Broadcasting System) 2TV's drama 'Emperor of The Sea', which was sold to Taiwan's Star TV and has supply negotiations with oversea several broadcasting stations such as China under way, is winning recognition in Europe also beyond the U.S.


Recently, drama 'Emperor of The Sea' is attracting great interest from the persons concerned of each broadcast in Europe through MIPTV (Marche International Pour les Television) too following a big response in the U.S.

According to KBS, the parties concerned of a raft of broadcast from the U.S. and Europe are expressing especial interest in drama 'Emperor of The Sea' from the first day of MIPTV, which is being held from April 11 through April 15 in Cannes, France.

An official responsible for oversea marketing of KBS drama said that with 'Emperor of The Sea' as a momemtum, Korea drama's overseas advance is likely to be accelerated in Europe and the U.S. including several areas such as Japan and China where established Hanryu (Korean wave) is strong.

MIPTV is held on April every year in Cannes, France and this year attracted the persons concerned over 10,000 people from 100 countries around the globe.
