'Gangnam Style' Nominated for People's Choice Award in U.S.

PSY's "Gangnam Style" was nominated for Favorite Music Video by the People's Choice Awards 2013 on Thursday.

The other nominees are Justin Bieber's "Boyfriend", Carl Rae Jepsen's "Call Me Maybe", which has topped the Billboard Single Hot 100 for nine straight weeks, Katy Perry's "Part of Me" and Maroon 5's "Payphone".

The awards, which celebrate their 39th anniversary next year, are handed out to the most popular TV series, music and films via online votes. An awards ceremony will take place in Los Angeles on Jan. 9.

On Nov. 11, PSY won the Best Video Award at the 2012 MTV European Music Awards in Frankfurt. He was also named winner of the New Media Award at the 2012 American Music Award on Sunday in Los Angeles.
