'Kwang Tae's Basic Story' shown at AISFF

Actress Ryu Hyun-kyung, who has been recently on the spotlight by expanding her career into film directing, gets into the 'Asiana International Short Film Festival'.

Ryoo made a great achievement in 'CINE Student' section of the 13th Chungmuro International Film Festival in Seoul where her short piece, 'Kwang Tae's Basic Story', was among the final 30 short films out of the total 120 entries. Her work fell short of receiving awards but she made progress with her talent as a director as well as an actress recognized.
As a director, she attends the 7th Asiana International Short Film Festival which raises its curtain on Nov. 5. She studies film making at Hanyang Univ. She already debuted as a director and female lead in her short piece 'Dissonance' 10 years ago when she was in the 3rd grade of middle school.

She has continuously maintained her filmmaking career. She directed a short movie, 'What about Apples?' in 2006, which featured actress Jo Eun-ji and actor Jung Kyung-ho as leading roles.
Directed by Ryoo, 'Kwang Tae's Basic Story' follows the male lead, Kwang Tae, who tries to get over the limit which he hasn't for 30 years and to be a better person for the lover he broke with. It took 6 months to plan and produce it. And it attracted attention because actor Park Chul-min, Jang Hyo-jin ("Terroir") and Kang So-ra, a female lead of the movie, '4th Period Mystery' star in the film.

The organizer of the film festival hosts screening event with the theme, 'Cinema Talk: How do short films communicate with audience' at Cine Cube, Kwanghwamoon, Seoul at 8 p.m. on Nov. 6. Through this event, the audience discusses with directors and actors & actresses. Not only Ryoo but also both the actor Yoo Ji-tae and actress Koo Hye-sun join the event as a director

In the meantime, Ryoo acts as 'Hang Dan-yi', a newly created role in a movie, 'Bang Ja Jeon' which has been shot since last month.
