China's largest state-run distributor, China Film Group, is in charge of the film's distribution in the world's populous country.

"Director Kim Han-min reedited the 127-minute film into a 108-minute version after cutting drama scenes and highlighting the naval battle", CJ E&M said.

The film was released in North America on Aug. 15, and earned US$2.58 million as of Oct. 12, becoming the second largest Korean box office hit in North America behind "Snowpiercer", which posted $4.56 million.

Since August, it opened in Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam, and was sold to 13 countries, including Australia, India, New Zealand, Taiwan and the Philippines via Asian Film Market.
