'Shine or Go Crazy' released poster featuring Jang Hyuk, charismatic and powerful

MBC's new special drama, 'Shine or Go Crazy' released their first poster featuring Jang Hyuk's charismatic image.

'Shine or Go Crazy' is a historical romance drama based on the novel with the same title. The love story begins with the one day marriage between the crown prince, Wang So of Goryeo, who is believed to be cursed, and the last princess of Balhae, Sin-yul. The historical background is during the first period of Goryeo.

The male lead, Jang Hyuk took on the role of Wang, who was the actual king, Gwang-jong of Goryeo.

Kwang-jong was a reformative king during the early period of Goryeo, however he was not well known. He made the law of emancipating slaves and the national civil service examination. While he had progressive and practical approach to stabilize the society, he conducted "bloody politics" to squash his political rivals, who were meritorious vassals, which entitled him as "Crazy King". Because of this two contradicting aspects, the title of the drama, 'Shine or Go Crazy' was created after his name Kwang meaning light, Kwang (光) and crazy, Kwang (狂).

He posed in various ways using the sword to be able to show the contradicting aspects of the Kwang-jong character during the photo shoots. Thanks to his acting experience established through action films, he made a charismatic presence each time. The production team is so focused on constructing Wang-so character that they even custom-ordered the sword for the photo shoot

The first episode of 'Shine or Go Crazy' will air on January 19th.
