Actress Kim Yunjin, star of the 1999 action film "Shiri", has agreed to act in a new television series in the United States next year.

Kim has signed a contract with U.S. television network ABC to appear in a show to begin airing in March, the daily Hankook Ilbo reported. The title and content of the show has not yet been decided.

Kim will be paid a total of $750,000 to act in 12 episodes, including the pilot, over six months. She has the option to appear in another 12 episodes.

The 30-year-old actress signed with William Morris Agency, a talent management company that also represents Meg Ryan, Kevin Spacey, Carrie-Anne Moss and others, in July 2002, and began actively pursuing roles in the U.S. in March.

Kim attended high school and college in the U.S., majoring in acting. She returned to South Korea in 1997, appearing in various television dramas. Besides "Shiri", her other feature films include "Yesterday" and "Iron Palm".
