'Sweet life' to export to Japan with minimum guarantee $3.2 million

Lee Byung-hun who plays the leading role in 'Sweet life'
'Sweet life' starring Lee Byung-hun was exported to Japan with minimum guarantee $3.2 million (approximately 4 billion) as the highest price among Japan export movies confirmed to date.

Minimum guarantee $3.2 million in Japan
Director Kim Jee-woon's 'Sweet life' jumped over $2.7 million export record of 'Eraser in my head' simply. Concerning theater distribution, Nippon Herald that introduced 'Fahrenheit 9/11, and 'Fashion of Christ' etc. to Japan, undertook.

Japan side distributors has decided to purchase 'Sweet life' whose filming didn't finish even 50% with only trust in director and actor. Japan side said: "Because of Lee Byung-hun whose popularity becomes higher in oversea market and expectations about director Kim Jee-woon of unique production ability who don't disappoint an audience commercially, we have decided to purchase".

Great interest from the casting stage
From the casting stage of this film, Japan side's 4-5 distributors have shown great interest in this movie. The movie is scheduled to be released in the first half of next year. Lee Byung-hun who enjoys an explosive popularity in Japan as one person of 4 top Korean Wave stars and expectations about director Kim Jee-woon who received much recognition with 'A Tale of Two Sisters', 'The Quiet Family', and 'The Foul King' etc. stirred up Japan movie firms' competition.
