'The 2004 Beijing Korean Film Festival' to be held from Dec. 2 through Dec. 6 in China, is likely to serve as a signal to herald Korean movie's advance into China in earnest.

For this year's Beijing Korean Film Festival, recent 12 films such as 'Oasis', 'Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter... And Spring', 'Singles', 'The Classic', and 'Wonderful Days', will be screened.

Beijing TV, CCTV and so on, are going to broadcast and 'The 2005 Seoul China Movie Festival' also takes place in Korea next year.

With a theme for a spring into world stage through movie cooperation between Korea and China, this event is especial in that a party concerned for policy such as congressmen, without mentioning the two nations' director as well as actors take part in large numbers.

An official of the Korean Film Council said: "The two nations' cooperation are beneficial each other in the long run", adding that he understands the Chinese government will ampflify the nation's movie opening width in the year after next.

Synergy effects in terms of production & distribution
He pointed out, "If Korea's production knowhow and originality and China's wide nature and abundant manpower are united, the two nations can make worldwide films, saying that it is not a few for the two nations to gain synergy effects in terms of production and distribution etc.
