The highly awaited monster film The Host has met box office expectations and THEN some.
The blockbuster has broken the MILLION ticket mark in just three days of release, a domestic record.
It should also easily surpass two MILLION tickets for its opening weekend, as the film sold more than one MILLION 800 thousand through Saturday.
The movie's soaring popularity has helped raise the number of theaters showing the film to 681 from 620.
The big-budget production is about a giant mutant monster that appears from the Han River and starts destroying everything in its path.
