'The Last Godfather' Draws 1 Million Viewers

Shim Hyung-rae's new comedy film "The Last Godfather" attracted over 1 million spectators in just five days since its release on Dec. 29.

According to statistics by the Korean Film Council, the film had been seen by 985,643 moviegoers as of 6 a.m. on Saturday. Adding the number of people who went to see the film Sunday, audiences exceed the 1 million mark.

"The Last Godfather" was the most-watched film in the theatres on New Year's Day with over 400,000 spectators.

That is still slower than Shim's previous film "Dragon War", which lured 3 million in five days.
