Park Chan-wook new film "Thirst" is creating a buzz not only for its excellence but also for a brief glimpse it offers of Song Kang-ho's genitals. Song stars as a Catholic priest-turned-vampire.

Asked whether the genital exposure was intentional, Park told reporters after the preview on Friday afternoon, "Watching the film in the audience, I think that scene was naturally incorporated into the movie. Because the composition of the frame was very natural, it wasn't intended just to attract attention. You'll know the difference when you watch the film yourself".

"When Park first proposed the idea about this film to me 10 years ago, he didn't say anything about exposure", Song said. "Later, when the screenplay was complete, Park and I thought very hard about this issue, but we thought it was absolutely necessary and that's why we did it. It epitomizes the message of the film, showing the most embarrassing moment for a Catholic priest, who had chosen faith, salvation and the spiritual life".

"Thirst" is a melodrama about a priest who turns into a vampire after a blood transfusion and falls fatally in love with the wife of his friend. The film is released on Thursday.
