2006 INDI-ANIFEST takes off

Hosted by the Korean Association of Independent Animation (President: Lee, Yong-Bae) and the Korea Culture and Content Agency (KOCCA, CEO: Suh, Byung-Moon), the five-day 2006 INDI-ANIFEST took off on October 27, 2006 at the Seoul Animation Center.

This year's INDI-ANIFEST will screen some 70 independent animation films from Korea and other countries, including the opening animation film "Hell: Two Lives" by director Yeon, Sang-Ho. Other major events are the screening of KIAFA self-drama animation films (October 28 to 30), a seminar on "Groping for Animation's Alternative Roles through Public Actions" (October 30, 4 p.m.), "Night of the Undead Body" (October 28, 7:30 p.m.), and the free market.

"Compared to its first-year offering, this year's INDI-ANIFEST (the second) has attracted more participants-no less than 200 independent animation films", said Lee, Yong-Bae, President of the Korean Association of Independent Animation. "I hope that independent animation films will expand not only in terms of the size of the industry but also in terms of the cultural diversity they foster, which is our theme for this year?"fattened' independent animation".
