2013 STYLE ICON AWARDS (2013 SIA) To Be Held October 22-24 in Seoul

Unique style and cultural festival with awards ceremony, fashion shows, film festivals, photo exhibitions, and more

Having promoted K-Culture worldwide, will be broadcast and streamed live across Korea, Southeast Asia, China, and the U.S.

The highly anticipated 2013 STYLE ICON AWARDS (2013 SIA) will take place on October 22-24 in Seoul, Korea announced CJ E&M today. A unique style and culture festival with fashion shows, film festivals, photo exhibitions, celebrity parties and more, SIA has grown rapidly in popularity worldwide, with this year's awards ceremony to be broadcast and streamed live across Korea, Southeast Asia, China and the United States.

"Entering its sixth year, SIA is the only style icon awards in Korea and has played a key role in K-Culture's expansion overseas since 2008", said Ms. Sung-Mi Han, General Manager of CJ E&M's Style Business Division. "Based on keen know-how and experience into what fans most want, 2013 SIA promises to be the best ever with various culture and style events in addition to our much acclaimed awards ceremony".

2013 SIA Awards Ceremony

The popular awards ceremony of 2013 SIA, which will take place on Thursday October 24^th at 19:00, will be broadcast live various TV channels including: Channel M in Southeast Asia, Mnet America in the U.S., and OnStyle, tvN, Mnet, XTM, O'live, and StoryOn in Korea. Online, the 2013 SIA awards ceremony will also be streamed live on CJ E&M's global.mnet.com, China's largest portal site sohu.com, and YouTube.com.

Under the theme "Otherness", 2013 SIA will announce the 10 most influential icons of the year across different voting categories. 50 nominees will be revealed for the first time on SIA's official website at sia.interest.me, and the 10 final winners will be chosen by research surveys (40%), online votes (30%), and an executive committee comprised of creative directors, stylists and photographers (30%).

2013 SIA Festivities

A three day style and culture festival, 2013 SIA will offer a plethora of activities for visitors to enjoy. For example, the SIA Film Festival will revisit icons of the past century through movies and fashion films at CGV Cheongdam Cine City. 2013 SIA will also support renowned fashion photographer Mario Testino's first photo exhibition in Korea at the Seoul Arts Center.

Other events will include large scale video projections and fashion shows on style icons of the century in collaboration with the Galleria Department Store in Apgujeong. A host of live music performances, celebrity parties with international artists, and more will also be held around Seoul.
