4 Symbolic Korean Weirs Open Today

Today, the Korean government opened 4 major weirs, providing a glimse of the four major rivers restoration project.
And each has its own set of unique features.
Ipo weir in Gyeonggi Province was inspired by the egret, the symbol of Yeoju.
Waterfront leisure facilities there, allow visitors to enjoy a number of outdoor activities such as swimming, fishing and RV camping.
The design inspiration for the Gongju weir is the Phoenix, the symbol of King Muryeong of Baekjae, and the weir features cultural spaces that fuse tradition and modernity.
Seungchon weir in Gwangju was designed to resemble the specialty rice produced in the area.
And the design of Goryeong weir in Goryeong-gun, North Gyeongsang Province was inspired by elements of the Gaya Confederacy.
There's more to them than just eye-catching designs, as advanced technologies are also featured in the weirs.
