5th APN Conference to be held at the JIMFF

The 5th annual Asia Producers Network conference will be held amongst the plethora of music and film events at this year's Jecheon International Music & Film Festival. The conference will take place over a three day period from August the 12th through to the 14th. The APN since its first conference in 2006 has been at the forefront in facilitating a common Asia wide network of producers and in the creation of an information hub. There are currently over 100 members of the network representing 10 different countries. This year 60 guests from Korea and other countries such as Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore and New Zealand will descend upon the small rural city of Jecheon for the conference.
On the agenda this year is the discussion of potential joint productions, the present situation of film production in Asia, the Korean film-making management system and copyright issues pertaining to co-productions. To aid in the creation of co productions, the JIMFF will hold its first pitching market 'Pitch & Hitch'. Producers from six countries with 17 projects in total will be showcasing their film treatments at the event. In addition, the APN and Jecheon city will sign a joint memorandum of understanding (MOU).
The conference will be held at the Hill Hotel overlooking the scenic Cheongpung Lake. The next annual APN conference is scheduled to be held in New Zealand. The JIMFF itself kicks off Thursday August 12 and wraps up on the 17th.
