Prosecutors on Wednesday demanded a seven-year prison term for TV personality Ko Young-wook, who is charged with sexually assaulting two young girls and having sex with a minor.

Prosecutors said Ko continues to deny the charges against him. They also asked for the former rapper to be electronically tagged since the most recent charge came even while he was being investigated for alleged earlier offenses.

According to police, Ko picked up a 13-year-old middle school student in the streets of Hongeun in northwestern Seoul and allegedly groped her thighs and other parts of her body. Ko has also been charged with having sex with another 13-year-old girl at his home in 2010 and sexually assaulting a 17-year-old girl the same year.

But Ko's lawyer claimed that police pressured one of the alleged victims to bring the earlier charge and that Ko did not force the girls to have sex with him.

The former member of band Roo'ra appealed for clemency, saying that although he deserves criticism for lacking morals, the sex was consensual. The sentencing hearing is on April 10.
