76% of Adults Oppose Screen Quota Cut

Three quarters of the adult population oppose the planned cut in the domestic screen quota.

In a poll on one-thousand adults commissioned by the National Assembly's Culture and Tourism Committee released Thursday, 68 percent said a cut in or scrapping of the system will hurt the country's film industry.

Sixty percent think the proposed four-hundred billion won in film subsidies is only a stop-gap measure.

From July, theaters will have to only screen domestic movies 73 days out of the year instead of one-hundred-46.
