Amid throes of journalists, photographers and screaming fans, a meeting between two of the biggest stars of Hong Kong and South Korea took place at the garden of Paradise Hotel, Pusan, Friday.

Hong Kong actor Tony Leung Chiu Wai and South Korean actress Lee Young-ae sat down to talk to fans and each other during the Open Talk session Friday afternoon.

"I have been watching many Korean films recently and I'm a big fan of Lee Young-ae", especially her work on "Joint Security Area JSA", Leung said.

Lee told the Chinese actor that it was an honor to meet someone she respects, adding that she was impressed by his performance in "2046".

Leung was in Pusan to take part in the opening ceremony, during which "2046", directed by Wong Kar Wai and starring Leung, was screened as the opening film. Lee was also at the opening ceremony Thursday, as one of the moderators.

Both dressed casually for the occasion, the two stars then answered some questions prepared in advance from the audience.

Asked to share his thoughts on love, Leung said he believed that it was a subjective quality, and portraying love on screen does not only depend "on the expressive ability of the actor, but it's a combination of every element in the film: lights, camera, sets".

Leung also talked about his relationship with the celebrated director Wong, with whom he has made many critically acclaimed movies together. However, Leung said he and Wong spend almost no time together when not working on movies, in order to maintain the energy of their films.

Lee talked a little about her new film with Park Chan-wook, "Kind Ms. Kumja", to begin shooting in November.

Calling the role in the upcoming movie very different from her previous films and television dramas, Lee said she took the part as a challenge to herself and that she looked forward to working with Park.
