Gyeonggi Digital Contents Agency announced on Feb. 12 that a stockholding company of Gonjo Inc., a major Japanese animation production company, has established its corporate office in Bucheon, Korea.

"GK Entertainment, the Korean branch of the GDH Group, one of the stockholders of Gonjo Inc., has recently entered a contract with the Institute", said an official from the Agency. Initially, GK Entertainment will employ 40 workers and set up the necessary equipment by the end of this month, and within six months, it will expand its employees up to 100.

GDH Group Inc. invested 100% of the establishment of its Korean corporate office, GK Entertainment, in Bucheon, and this decision was based on the fact that it was outsourcing a considerable part of its animation production to Korea.

The Institute believes that such a move by the GDH Group Inc. is part of the company's strategy to better secure an efficient production arm based in Korea, which will contribute greatly to the development of the animation and content industry in Bucheon.
