A Marathoner's body?

Latest stills from the set show Kim Myung-min with a toned body and no fat. Due to his ridgid training for "Pacemaker", his weight plunged down from 66 kilos in February, to currently 63 kilos. In an interview with MyungMin International on 2 May 2011, Kim Myung-min explained that he has now a marathoner's body, because he ran a distance of over 20 kilometers per day to prepare for the part of Pacemaker Man Ho. The weight loss was an unintentional side effect of his daily half-marathon distance training.

This comes as no surprise. Running the distance of a marathon race (42 km) is no piece of cake. Of course, the calories contained in a piece of cake comes in handy to fuel one's muscles for the distance. For the full distance of such a race, our body has to burn more than 3000 kcal!

To maintain his "starting weight" of 66 kilos, Kim Myung-min needs an extra intake of at least 1500 kcal per day. Translated into food terms, that would be 3 bars of chocolate, or 5 hamburgers, or 3,5 liters of softdrink!

"Pacemaker" is the big screen debut of well-known musical director Kim Dal-joong (Attack the Gas Station, Finding Destiny). Filming started in April 11 and the movie is targetted for release in South Korea on 7 September 2011.
