Actor Kim Rae-won Plans More Activities in Japan

Actor Kim Rae-won is enjoying sustained popularity in Japan.

Kim joined the group of hallyu stars last year when his dramas "Cat on the Roof" and "Love Story in Harvard" were aired on Nihon TV and KNTV (a TV channel in Japan specializing in Korean programs), respectively. He is expected to enjoy rising popularity in Japan this year as well, because "Love Story in Harvard" will also air on Nihon TV in April.

On Dec. 4 of last year, Kim received an explosive response at a grand-scale fan meeting aimed at promoting his photo album entitled "Pure" under the sponsorship of KNTV. He plans to engage in more activities in Japan, as Nihon TV has decided to air "Love Story in Harvard" in April following KNTV, whose airing of the drama received critical acclaim.

According to an official from his agency, Kim plans to act in a film and two dramas and conduct various other activities in Japan this year. Despite the expiration of his modeling contract with Clride, a casual clothing brand, he has "no special plans to shoot for commercial films for the time being, in anticipation of a busy schedule."

After acting in the new film "Mister Socrates," Kim has been taking some time off. He will likely decide next week whether to act in a film or a drama as his next activity.
