American Media Reports on Choi's Suicide

The online edition of American news magazine Time reported on the suicide death of top star Choi Jin-sil. Under the title, "South Koreans Are Shaken by a Celebrity Suicide", the article talked about social problems that drove Choi to take her own life and aftereffects of her death on the Korean society.
The Time report also wrote in detail about Choi's personal difficulties as a divorcee and single mom living in a conservative society. Although the article said that "incessant online gossip appears to have been largely to blame for her death, but it's also clear that public life as a single, working, divorced mom – still a pariah status in South Korea – was one role she had a lot of trouble with". The article wrapped up by showing concerns for more suicides, which has happened after other celebrity deaths.
Choi's funeral was held last Saturday on October 4th and she was laid to rest at a cemetery in Yangpyeong, Gyeonggi Province.
